2014-08-02:When you walked alone, have you felt like someone is following you and look back?

In this world, there are some phenomenons that are far less known. Philosophers, Psychiatrists and psychologists as well as other kind of scientists don’t say much about them. Even different religious doctrines state only on their belief about them. Around the world, people talk and believe in God or gods, in his representatives and prophets; but few speak about angels. What do you think of Angels?

A recent poll published in Time magazine revealed that 69 percent of Americans believe in angels, and 46 percent of that group believe they have a personal guardian angel. The invoked "evidence" we have for their existence is the long religious tradition, accounts from the Bible and many anecdotes. Some people believe these spiritual beings have affected their lives. Ultimately, angels became a matter of faith. When you reflect on your life so far, you can probably think of many moments when it seemed like a guardian angel was watching over you, from guidance or encouragement that came to you at just the right time, to a dramatic rescue from a dangerous situation. Guardian Angels are thought to be spiritual beings that are "assigned" to assist people here on Earth in various ways.

In Christianity, believers look to the Bible for their ultimate guidance on the matter of guardian angels, and the Bible doesn’t specify whether or not people have their own guardian angels. However, the Bible is clear that guardian angels do exist. Psalm 91:11-12 declares about God: "For he will command his angels concerning you to guard you in all your ways; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone."

In Islam, believers say that God assigns two guardian angels to accompany each person throughout his or her life on Earth, one to sit on each shoulder. These angels are called the Kiraman Katibin (honorable recorders), and they pay attention to everything that people past puberty think, say, and do. They believe that the one who sits on their right shoulders records their good choices while the angel who sits on their left shoulders records their bad decisions. The Qur'an mentions angels present both before and behind people when it declares in chapter 13, verse 11: "For each person there are angels in succession, before and behind him: They guard him by command of Allah."

In Hinduism, believers say that every living thing - person, animal, or plant - has an angelic being called a deva assigned to guard it and help it grow and prosper. Each deva acts like divine energy, inspiring and motivating the person or other living thing that it guards to better understand the universe and become one with it. Do you see the conception they have of angelic being?

My aim today is to assure you that we have angels in our lives. Every Christian does. The Bible clearly teaches, “The angel of the Lord encamps all around those who fear Him, and delivers them” (Psalm 34:7). Psalm 91:11 tells us, “For He shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. And Hebrews 1:14 says of angels, “Are they not all ministering spirits sent forth to minister for those who will inherit salvation?” Also in Hebrews, we read that “some have unwittingly entertained angels” (13:2). That is an interesting thought. Maybe you have met an angel. If you have, you probably wouldn’t know it. I doubt that an angel would tell you he is an angel. Jesus said: “Take heed that you do not despise one of these little ones, for I say to you that in heaven their angels always see the face of My Father who is in heaven” (Matthew 18:10). This is reassuring, knowing how easily children can get themselves into trouble. But even if they don’t have a personalized angel, we can know that angels are involved in their lives, as angels are involved in the lives of Christians.

We have angelic activity around us every day. Angels are at work in our lives, protecting us, guiding us, and sometimes even speaking to us. But they work undercover. We could describe them as God’s secret agents who are also our bodyguards and who can sometimes appear as we do. In Acts 12:5-15, we find that disciples of Jesus Christ stated on that when Rhoda kept stating that it was knocking on the door, the disciples said it must be his angel. God sent an angel to rescue Peter.

Angels are God’s messengers. They are divinely created beings with supernatural powers, and they sometimes take human appearance in order to talk to people. Angels should not be worshiped because they are not divine. They are God’s servants as we are.

If when you walked alone and had never felt like someone is following you and look back, I suggest you to set up the experience of sensing the presence of your angel behind you today. Take a walk alone in a garden or a park and start your prayer by confessing your sins, then give praise to God the creator of the universe and finally submit to him all your requests in your own words. Surely you will feel like someone is following. When you will look behind you, you will see nobody. When you draw God’s attention he will react.
